In the plaza, it seems that there's yet another newcomer.

...One that looks like he might not have lasted in the process of arriving.

He's lying face down on the cobblestone, soaking wet, dark shadowy veins standing out against his deathly pale skin. His clothing is covered with unidentifiable stains, and he smells like dust kicked up by a rainstorm. It's the very definition of One Dead Human. Except for the small black horns sticking out from underneath his hair.

Finally he starts stirring, his voice tinged by a dull echo as he groans in the effort of trying to pull himself to his feet. He gets to his knees before he starts coughing, spitting out seawater that's followed by a thick black smoke that settles like dust on the ground.

...Yeah, he's definitely not looking so good.

New arrivals weren't anything odd to Rin. Just like him and everyone else he knew they came in all shapes and sizes, from all different worlds, some human and some not. Sometimes he would stop to help if no one else from the welcome center had gotten to them already, but usually they were already being tended to and he would do little more than pass on by with a glance, and maybe sometimes a wave if Zelda was the one working that day.

But today was clearly different. Whoever-- ... whatever this was in the middle of the plaza did not look or sound good at all.

Rin approached cautiously, setting down his bag slowly and taking his sword out from it's case. He didn't remove the sheath, but he was ready to fight if it came down to that.

"... h-hey! You okay? Do... you need a healer or somethin'?"

Okay... maybe he's not dangerous. Just really messed up. Really really messed up. Rin lowers the sword and takes a couple of tentative steps forward kneeling down with a sympathetic expression.

"It's called Vatheon. It's.. a city under the sea. You were taken from your home and brought here and... sorry, but there's no way to get back..."

He speaks calmly and slowly, avoiding any slang so as not to confuse the stranger. He's not really sure what can be done for the man, though. What is that stuff that he's coughing up, anyway?

Rin jerked back instinctively at the cry, hand moving towards his sword again. He stopped, though, once he felt his heart wasn't going to leap out of his chest. He wasn't really angry, just... upset. Justifiably so.

"L-look, I'unno what to tell you. ... 'cept that, well... time doesn't really move, back wherever you came from. If you do go back it'll be because the god of this place decided to send you back, and you'll just show up wherever you left off."

"... heh..." it came out nervous and unsure and still concerned for Wander's state, but he continued talking anyway, setting his sword down as he did so and moving in to a crouch with his arms draped over his knees. "Yeah I don't blame you there. They kinda suck. Especially the ones that drag you away to underwater cities for no damn reason."

Actually there was a reason, but no matter how many times it was explained to him, Rin still never really understood it fully. He wasn't about to explain that to some one else, especially some one in Wander's state.

"... you sure you don't need a healer?"

"Hey, never know until you try," Rin shrugged, watching the other closely, "But whatever. If you ever need one there's plenty here, you just gotta ask."

He was still, admittedly, a little bit wary of the man. He just wasn't sure what to make of him. There was a darkness about him that wasn't entirely his own, which was a strange enough sensation on it's own. But he also felt like it was eclipsing something else entirely. It was... unsettling. Especially because Rin could tell he wasn't a demon.

"Well uh... if you want I can take you back to my place if you need a bit to get on your feet or whatever..."

He wasn't sure how Maka was going to take that, but if anyone could figure out the conflicting feelings it would be her and her soul perception.

"Mono?" Rin echoed, shaking his head as he dug in his pockets for his SFC, "Haven't seen her, no, but lemmie check..."

A quick scroll of the network revealed no one by the name of "Mono" current in the city.

"Sorry. Looks like she's still... wherever you came from."

It was difficult to tell if that was a good or bad thing.
