Character: Solf J. Kimblee
Fandom: Fullmetal Alchemist
Player Name: Danny
[Looks like it's that time for a fresh wave of newcomers, because there is a man clad in a white suit currently squeezing sea water out of a long scarf in the plaza. On the positive side, at least water doesn't stain the fabric as easily. Once he's satisfied he hangs it over a few branches of the coral and turns to examine his surroundings a bit better. He wasn't quite expecting to show up in an underwater city after traversing the mines, and he definitely didn't expect to find a strange tattoo on the back of his hand. The device that turned up in his coat pocket was another oddity, but he could tinker around with it once he learned where he was and how he arrived.]

Now let's see what we have here...

Look what the cat's dragged in..
no subject
There was a face he thought he wouldn't see for... Awhile. He didn't exactly hang around in Central for very long to visit old war comrades, so at most he relied on word of mouth.]
Hello to you too, Major.
no subject
It's colonel now actually. [He paused for a moment, considering and decided he'd need to know eventually. Might as well get the time issue out of his way now.]
Would you mind if I asked what year it was back home before you found yourself here?
[If he heard 1908, he was going to have a silent bone to pick with this place.]
no subject
I see. Congratulations, then. I take it the promotion was recent?
[But then the man's question threw him off slightly. Was he serious? No, he never really knew him to joke around very often; a shame really, but he couldn't be sure so he had to ask.]
Please, tell me you're joking.
no subject
[Does he look like he's joking, Crimson? Though he wishes he was really..]
Unfortunately, I'm not. This place... is capable of pulling people to it from different points in time. It is 1914 for me back home, for example.
no subject
And does this place have a name? It's one thing to wake up soaked to the bone, but another thing entirely to be under an ocean of some sort with no knowledge as to where it is. Not to mention the newest addition I've found myself with...
[He held his hand up to display the aforementioned mark. Its location certainly isn't one that he would've picked, that was for certain.]
But as for your year, it's 1915 the last time I checked.
no subject
[He'll hold his own hand up to show the palm of it and the black mark which graces it.]
It seems everyone brought here gains that little addition.
[Possibly a few months or more ahead of him then..but the clothing definitely didn't make it look like he'd been pulled from his prison cell. Time perhaps to try his hand at fishing once again...]
You were released before you got brought here?
no subject
[Not that he was complaining, it just took him by surprise. It would come in handy, though; he'd have to find a new hat and possibly even replace his suit all the way down to the tie with a new one if he couldn't find a cleaner in the city.
If it even had one.]
I take it Vatheon has it's own currency as well, then? Judging by your choice of words there are still things we're required to pay for.
no subject
[He's still seeking information on that suspicion though. As of yet, he's gotten nothing really concrete.]
Yes, there is one place which requires payment in the form of something called Starfish Tokens, but the form of that currency is a simple card it would seem. I'm uncertain as of yet just how one gains those, but the city is gracious enough to provide some of them upon arrival fortunately.
[A fact he was grateful for since he'd needed them to get the materials needed to replace his gloves.]
1/2
That is...
no subject
Seriously who is in charge of the naming council here? There had to have been a better name somewhere.]
I suppose it's... cute in it's own way. [He reached into his pocket to retrieve the SFC, the object unfamiliar and even a little uncomfortable in his palm.] One more question if you don't mind; do you know what this is?
no subject
[It's something of a fascinating thing really, he's still not entirely certain just how it does some of the things it does, but so far he's resisted the impulse to take it apart to see just how it worked.]
no subject
[He turned it over in his hands to finally take a better look at it, but he makes no move to turn it on. It'd be rude to divide his attention between a man who knew more about the city than himself at the present moment and a plastic... starfish.
thing.]
How long have you been here, by the way?
no subject
Going on around three weeks now.
[And might as well broach the issue of Hawkeye now, get that complication out of the way before Kimblee found out in a worse way and made a situation out of it.]
I'm not the only one from our world here, Riza Hawkeye is here too... only she's from 1908.
no subject
Is that so? [1908.
Ishval.
Before he was court martialed, perhaps... But did miss sniper know what he did or not? That's one of the questions nagging at him.]
You'll have to remind me to visit her once I get used to this city.
no subject
He will ponder all of that after recon. For now he was a bit relieved to see Kimblee in one piece.
He needed someone to do the work, right?
Leaving his friend long enough to acquire a towel to drop over Kimblee's head.]
no subject
Yeah.
He's going to actually give Pride curious look as he removed the towel. This must've been the container the homunculus mentioned in the mines. Selim Bradley, the 'son' of Fuhrer King Bradley... But he couldn't request a confirmation in public like this. Kimblee didn't know just who was all here yet; better to play it safe for now.]
Ah--thank you.
no subject
It's stamped on his ass.He regarded the other for a moment. Curious and curiouser.
Selim's demeanor changed instantly to a smile.]
No problem, Uncle. Can't have you getting sick.
no subject
That leash just keeps changing owners doesn't it?He couldn't help but chuckle and reach out to gently ruffle the boy's hair. 'We'll talk later, Pride.']
That would be unfortunate, wouldn't it? If I got sick I couldn't watch over my nephew very well.
no subject
Take it as an upgrade from Envy.Totally acting like the simple and happy child! Nothing wrong with this image at all. Ignore the face his shadow might be a little longer than it should be and was connected to another shadow.]
Do you think any State Alchemists are here? [Look how he sparkles!]
no subject
Hey, he's not that bad of a driver. Just needs to keep his eyes on the road a bit better.....Whoa yeah he's.
Not used to this side of Pride. at all.]
A former State Alchemist isn't good enough, hm?
[Shh, he's teasing.]
no subject
Selim can keep his eyes on the road! Just give a stack of phone books.Gotta keep appearances, man.]
I guess you're great, too. Only State Alchemists can help my dad though. [Because they were sacrifices. Kimblee wasn't allowed in the sacrifice club. Speaking of...]
What do you remember last, Uncle Kimblee?
no subject
selim pls your mother would have a fit]True, true. Your father needed me for something else, though. [That's a club he's happy to stay out of. No opening the gate for him, thanks. Besides, who knows what he'd lose.
But now he has to think of how to phrase this. One never knew just who could be listening after all.]]
I had a little run in with the boogeyman.
no subject
he'll remember to wear a seat belt!Kimblee already had a special club of his own.]
Really? I'm glad you're able to help him out. [There were all the sparkles again.]
The boogeyman? That sounds scary. [Boogeyman, huh? He might take that as a compliment. It'll have to be before then. The mines perhaps?] Was Fullmetal around to help?
no subject
can your feet even reach the pedals? Is it the Sociopath-in-a-nice-suit club? Or maybe it's the Prison Club!]
He and I had a small disagreement over capturing Scar and I'm afraid he slipped away. [He flexes his right hand and turns it over to glance at the cut across the transmutation circle.] Although now my orders have been to forget about Scar for the time being and concentrate on fulfilling the other half of my job.
no subject
...no. shadow tendrils can help? The Gets-eaten club!
So before he helped by making a blood circle for them. How peculiar. Did this place warp the memories of humans?]
I'm sure you'll make up! You should tell me all about your adventure. [Maybe they should get inside some where so they can talk more candidly.] We should find a bandage for that cut, Uncle Kimblee. You should take better care of yourself.
no subject
...okay. just don't crash. uncle kimblee doesn't need any more foreign objects impaling his gut. he can't heal like your family can.Oh. ...But Gluttony eats everything at the club parties. Including the jackets.]
If you're this worried about a little cut I may have to think twice about telling the story about the train. [But he nodded once and pressed the towel against his hand, offering a smile.] But if it'll make you happy, I suppose I should get it taken care of. I was unable to take care of it prior to my arrival due to the location.
no subject
There was a low whistle from a bench in the plaza. Still very much wet and leaning forward was this guy.]
Now that is something. [Now leaning back as he rested both arms along the back of the chair.
Might not be the world, but he could take it. A gaze was sent over towards the white clad stranger.]
Anything interesting?
no subject
One he's actually fairly familiar with at that. Sorry buddy, he's just going to stare at the hand for a few moments and flash a harmless smile.]
That depends on what your definition of interesting is.
Greed is totally part shark.
Like what you see. He made note of the stare and wore a grin with far too many teeth.]Seems to me you're interested in something alright. How about we make a deal, then?
cue Jaws theme
or welcoming, actually. This guy must be related to Envy and the others for sure.]
I'm listening.
