[So being soaked to the bone didn't bother the blonde in the slightest, but wandering around in an unfamiliar city certainly did. Shirley rolls her hands in her skirt and looks, nervously, up and around at the closed-in sky.]

Um...

[But, an idea hits her. She holds out her hand, palm upwards, as a translucent butterfly appears out of nothing.]

Can you go look around this place for me..?

[And she watches it fly off into the sky, sighing some of the stress away.]

[The title makes her turn stiff as a board even before Shirley recognizes the voice. She takes a step back, away from him - partially out of shock, partially because Walter always had that effect on her.]

You're here too...? A-and - [But she clamps her teeth down on her tongue before she can say 'alive'.]

[He sees her before she can so much as open her mouth the first time. So caught up is he in her sheer presence that he doesn't register her tone as he rushes over to her, making sure to keep a close but respectable distance.

It doesn't appear as though she's made contact with the land dwellers. Good.]

Merines, have you just arrived?

[She swallows. Shirley's glad to see him - it's a familiar face among crowds of strangers and the unfamiliar - but, somehow, seeing him just makes her all the more nervous. Because just him standing in front of her is reminding her of everything that happened..]

[Stand strong. She forces her hands to unclench themselves, slowly.]

Y-yes. I just woke up in this place, but I don't know how I got here.. This isn't the Legacy at all...

This is Vatheon, a city within the sea. Some city folk believe their god brought us here.

[As he says this, the surprise begins to settle, and suddenly it strikes him as odd how anxious she sounds. Though it's true that she's been struggling, she shouldn't seem this . . . of course.

But who is he to question her. The problem does not lie in her, anyway. He straightens.]

I've yet to find a method by which to return to the Legacy.

[The anxiety is just one of many strange observations to make. She's back in her Orerines dress, with a long quill pen secured in her belt, and the beginnings of a traveler's tan on her face and hands. And however nervous she might be around him, Shirley's at least willing to ask more questions.]

Under the sea? But this isn't a Ferines city at all.

Have you..been here very long, Walter?

[Indeed, and though he could spend the whole day sideeying the getup and her overall appearance, he sets the imminent interrogation aside. Her question draws a short pause from him, before he honestly states:]

Just for a few days.

[Then,] We should discuss the rest elsewhere.

[Somewhere more isolated, where there's fewer people bound to watch.]

[A small nod, as she lets her teriques disappear.]
