Character: Marcello.
Fandom: Dragon Quest 8.
Player Name: Lisa
[Marcello's body quietly lay amongst the rubble for some time. The bits of rocks made him feel woefully uncomfortable. And the one lying beneath his elbow did indeed jab into his arm and make him move. And he was soaking. Even if he wasn't lying amongst the rubble back on Neos - he thought he was - he was still rubbing the back of his head and feeling wamrth run to the side of it. While it felt strange, for he was soaked through. He swung over his arm and rose to his feet as slowly and clumsily as he could force his body to move.]
[He took the time to orient himself. It was strange. Night had spread like a dark veil across the sky. He saw beyond his pile a clean city. He stropped then and waited for his mind to catch up with his eyes, with a hand gripped over his amulet like a talisman. His free hand pushed his sword down stiffly, like it was struggling against some unseen force.]

[It was not hard to hear the anger in his voice on being reminded of his failure. And as far as he was concerned, it was over.]
Did you forget what I said? It doesn't concern me now.

Oh of course how could I forget? Perhaps your old age is rubbing off onto me. By the Goddess, I might even start showing wrinkles! What will the ladies think of their gift from above when he's old and wrinkly? Why they'll cry their poor eyes out.

[His snort at the 'Goddess' was quite loud. And of course he was still unimpressed. His brother had the smallest of small minds. Were Angelo old he would be closer to death, and he would celebrate. But his brother lived. Kill him now and spare him this life of misery.]
[He had listened. That was enough. An irritable sigh, and he interrupted-]
Are you finished?

Even after all that happened... You're still the same.
[He shakes his head with a sigh before his eyes slightly narrow with his expression turning more cold.]
I also know what you're capable of. So I'll only say this once, brother. If you want to make me suffer, then so be it. But leave everyone else in this place out of it, no one else needs to be dragged into it.

Fine. I have no argument with them, and I will not oblige you with one either.
[Unless his brother made it clear he wouldn't be left alone.]

Living together for years at the abbey with you taught me more than you realize. But coming to this city has also taught me many things, especially about what it means to have true happiness in life. Perhaps it will teach you the same.
[And with that, he began walking away from Marcello again and making it clear from his actions he was leaving his brother alone. He's realizes no matter what he does, his brother will never change with him around. The city and its people might have to do that instead.]

[The colour of the water-sky was a pleasant blessing to him after the heat of Neos. But despite the calm in the air, his face was heating up. Teach him the same indeed! Right as Angelo was, Marcello had a personality as strong as his brother's. He turned around and began heading in a different direction]
