Ugh!
[You know what's a bummer? Having one of your most raddest of bass guitars get drenched by salt water. There is no worse killer than salt water to instruments.]
[Like most new arrivals to Vatheon, Marceline is in the plaza. Also like most new arrivals, Marceline can be found in a state of freak out. It's not over her situation, however. She's seen stranger things in Ooo, after all, what was the big deal of an underwater bubble city? No, right now, all her attention is focused on the sweet axe she has in her hands and which she is furiously drying off. Nothing really out of the ordinary here.]
[Besides. Y'know. The fact that she's floating as she does it, legs curled as though she really is sitting on more than air.]
[She seems a little frustrated at the moment. Approach: Y/N?

Excuse me but would you like a towel?

You know, if you really wanted to help, couldn't you just-
[Then she looks up.]
[Marceline's words die on her. All she can do is stare at the figure near her, wide eyed. The axe nearly slips from her fingers before she fumbles and latches on tight, holding it close. Out of nowhere, she suddenly misses Hambo bad.]
[This has to be some sort of messed up joke, but for now, her brain has shut down on her.]

Right?]
...Marcy?

[Her voice is small and quiet before something in her brain snaps and she whirls around with an inhuman sound. The axe in her hand changes position, held more like the weapon it originally was than any kind of musical instrument.]
[Her hair might be floating a bit. Just. A little.]
Alright, whose idea of a sick JOKE was this!? Come out now and I might leave a bit of you to be put in a grave!
[Because that's a spell, right? Or a changeling. Or flowers that make you hallucinate.]
[Because Simon isn't... himself anymore, these days. She won't take anymore messing with her head.]

It's really her! His little girl is all grown up and oh bread balls, she's going to kill him.]
Marceline, stop! It's me, it's really me!

[Seeing Simon so freaked out- like when they thought something was coming for them from the forest- does manage to push back the tide of hurt and fury in her. Marceline still doesn't let go of the axe, however. Swallowing hard, she forces herself not to cry. She has a reputation to uphold, after all.]
If you're really the Simon I know- [She starts to float around him, half in a way that betrays a desire to punch something and half in a way that shows she really wants to hug him.] -then what was the thing you pushed over the side of that big road which had two slime monsters in it?

I guess now you're too big for me to carry, huh?

[She'd just gotten so used to him being as he was, unable to remember their history, being the lamest womanizer ever, the Ice King, it's thrown her for a loop. She'd become the one old as garlic balls, but she still hadn't really known how to reverse the damage the crown had done.]
[Without really thinking about it, she ends up besides him, head resting on his shoulder. Still floating, of course. Standing is for squares.]
Man. Yeah, I guess so- but hey! [She seems to cheer up a bit, grinning.] You know what?
no subject
What, sweetheart? [Oh- should he stop with the terms of endearment? Is it awkward now that she's not seven? There should really be some kind of etiquette book written for this.]

[Just not in public or else she'll die from embarrassment.]
[Landing on the ground again, she leans down and scoops him up easily. Awww yeah vampire strength.]
I'm prr-e-tty sure I remember a certain old man saying he'd accept being carried in a heartbeat.
[If she just plays it cool and ignores her mass feelings of confusion and freak out, then everything's okay, right? Right.]
