[Rapunzel is not pani-- Well, she's doing her best to not panic, at least. But she only just left her tower yesterday, and now she's stuck in a bizarre place. She has no idea what it's called or how she got there... Can she be blamed for feeling antsy and nervous? Still, with seventy feet of blonde hair trailing behind her, she has set out to find some answers.

She just has to remember how things went at the Snuggly Duckling; people aren't so scary, after all. Even the most intimidating person might actually be very sweet. As long as she keeps that in mind, she tells herself, she'll be fine.

It's not long before she finds herself in conversation with a local. They're going on about something, but she has no idea what.]

Um, yes... Thank you? But what I'm asking is-- I see! But, can I just--

[She sighs huffily; the other person doesn't seem to notice. Care to save her?]

[Oh my. That.. was a lot of hair. Ioder had always thought Dhaos had the longest hair he had ever seen on a person, male or female, but that--...

Was that even physically possible?

It wasn't really worth questioning. This was Vatheon after all, a place of trolls, demons, humans, and... flustered girls with seventy feet of hair, now.

After taking a second to stare (and actually admire it a bit - it was very lovely and well kept for being so long) he carefully approaches, making sure not to step on any of it so he can put a gentle hand on her arm and catch her attention.]

I'm afraid you're not going to get any answers from them, miss.

[Rapunzel jumps at first, but this new person doesn't seem dangerous, either. Once he speaks, she's certain he's friend, not foe. A smile.]

I'm sorry to say but the locals here are under the effects of... something we haven't quite figured out yet. It makes them very polite and nice, but a little...

[he motions a finger around his temple to indicate "not all there"]

You'll have better luck with the foreigners like yourself. Luckily I happen to be just that.

Oh, well, that... Sort of explains it.

[She pauses, pursing her lips in thought, one hand brought to her chin.]

But I don't know what, exactly, you mean by a foreigner or a local in this place.

Well... there should have been a pamphlet to explain that when you first arrived, but you wouldn't be the only one who missed that! Essentially there are the people who already lived here - the locals like the one you were trying to speak to - and the rest of us who have been pulled here by the god of this world.

It's... a giant coral, and no it doesn't make any more sense to those who have been here a while.

[He motions back towards the plaza, the coral some distance away but still visible.]

It brings us here, and in a strange sort of trade, it provides us with healing and energy and we provide it with life. Again, it sounds just as odd as it is.

Those of us that are deemed "foreigners" are from all different worlds, all different species and races. I myself am from a world called Terca Lumieres, but there's only myself and two others from that world here right now.

I-- [Oops, he's rambling almost as bad as the local] ... hope I'm not going too fast for you. It can be a bit much to take in.

[She does her best to keep up, nodding when she understands something and kind of just staring at some bits, particularly the 'coral God' thing.]

Unfortunately, yes. There are people who leave from time to time, but it's not anything we're in control of.

Ah... I know it's upsetting, but I'm afraid there's nothing that can be done about it.

Would it help to know that time won't pass in your world? If you ever return you'll go back to where you last were.
