What am I doing -

[The last thing he had remembered was pain - pain and the voices of the members of SEES around him. Death was close, and Nyx was coming. She would bring her salvation to everyone.]

[And yet... he feels somewhat damp. That is strange - strange enough that he opens his eyes and looks around. He seems to be in a plaza - but that cannot be. He was dead, even if they had managed to stop her - which was impossible no matter what they believed.]

[He snatched up his gun and shrugs his shoulders, attempting to gain feeling back in them where they are starting to go a little numb and cold. He will explore this place... and find the answers that he seeks.]

[If Chidori could appear, once upon a time, she doesn't see any reason why the leader of Strega himself couldn't either. And yet in all the months she's been here, she hadn't expected to see him. Not once.

He's not exactly on top of her list of people she wants to see here, either. But faced with the reality that the Coral's evidently seen fit to bring him here, she can't exactly ignore him. She simply watches him for a moment as he explores, towel in her hand; and she does approach him.

But she won't offer it right away, merely questioning:]

Lost?

[He just stares at her, head tilted to the side in amusement. So she was here, as well... were any of the others here? Hmm... this could be a problem.]

[The question nearly makes him laugh, though. Lost? No one was truly lost if they lived in the moment as he did. And how could he be lost, when he was on his way to salvation?]

Not quite - though this place is unfamiliar.

[That laughter's always been unsettling for her. A lot's changed, SEES has been through a lot, but in the end, when he laughs like that, she can only picture the maniac with the gun who shot Shinji.

Her senpai, the one she barely got to know...

It wasn't fair. And it still isn't, if the Coral saw fit to bring him here.

...Yeah, she's throwing the towel at him now. She has to let out her anger somehow.]

Just dry off and stay out of trouble. Your friends aren't here, so don't even think about trying anything.

[He pats his shoulders down a bit, and smirks at her comment.]

'Try anything'? Everything that's needed has already been done.

[It's so close... an end to such a miserable and mundane existence.]

...Maybe at home. But it's a completely different world here.

[Or had he really not noticed?

No, Yukari knows he has. And she might be a little miffed that he wouldn't even allow her the satisfaction of seeing him flinch at the thrown towel-- but oh well.

He always has been hard to rattle, and it's rare to ever see him out of sorts.]

So get used to it.

I've noticed.

[He does allow himself a moment to fish into his pockets, looking for something. He pulls out an empty plastic bag and scowls at it. Of course. He had used the last of them before they climbed the tower.]

[This... would be unpleasant.]

[A plastic bag...?

Whatever was in there is gone now. But you bet she'll still keep a close eye on his movements.]

The remnants of an aid for those of us who were not lucky enough to be born with the power you were.

[He scowls and crumples up the bag, shoving it back into his pocket.]

[Oh, right. The pills. Shinji hadn't talked about it much, but-- then again, he didn't really have much of a chance to.

Tch. Takaya looks pretty angry about it... bitter.]

Right. And I'm supposed to feel sorry for you after what you did?

Please.

[What was this? Some sort of sick joke? Why was Strega here?

He quickly scanned for Jin and Chidori, but neither were close by that he could tell from looking in the background at the feed. Their leader was alone, but armed.

Fortunately Akihiko wasn't in the plaza.]

You...

[Hm? He could hear someone's voice - the voice of a familiar pest. He picked up the device on the ground, and stared at it. Interesting.]

So you are here, as well.

[Akihiko thought Vatheon wasn't so bad...most people had no intention of causing trouble. Takaya would be a dangerous addition.]

How'd you end up here?

Now that is the question. How indeed?

[Even if he knew, he wouldn't tell, so~.]

[So much rage is in his heart. You killed Shinji and felt no pain.]

This place doesn't work the way it does back home. You're outnumbered if you try anything crazy.

[At least, he hopes so. Everyone has been so friendly and eager to help...]

[He holds up his gun, pointing it at Akihiko for effect, finger on the trigger.]

Do you really think your supposedly selfless actions had no consequences?

[One would think the gun is what made him lose his focus, but it was merely words.]

What are you rambling about?

Why don't you ask someone who's actually intelligent? Perhaps your friend will tell you what her company has been up to for years.

Mitsuru and her father want the shadows gone as much as we do.

[But would the answers he seeks end up being that which he desires in the end? After all, this world was a crossroads in more ways than one. Life and death mattered not in this rather unique rift in space and time. All those drawn to it would return anew.

Ah, the ever-lurking presence... the acceptance of an inevitability for all finite beings... It is a rare sight to behold in someone so young, to be seeking the ultimate end... and the ultimate beginning. The seemingly male figure smirks from beneath the veil of their cap, hiding something from view quite well as the expression turns much more friendly.]

Hi! Welcome to Vatheon! [It's almost as natural as breathing (ha ha), slipping back into the facade. Even moreso to slip into faux concern as they offer a towel.] Oh my, are you alright?

[He stares up at the figure, Hypnos on guard. He does take the towel though and starts drying his arms off.]

... Yes, aside from not knowing what this 'Vatheon' is. There was something important I was seeing to.

[Or attempting to... damn pests.]

[They chuckle, recognizing that forced potential. It was almost like a beacon, and would be even more so to those who could sense it like herself and the Shadows...]

It's a nexus words of sorts, disregarding the common concepts of space and time. [Wait, 'common'?] I am afraid that it will have to wait.

[hmhmhm...]

[He does pick up on that, but -]

Unfortunately, I don't believe it can wait. I need to find my way out of here.

[He's so tired of all of this... mundane existence. It would be easier, better, just to let the End come.]

[You poor, unfortunate soul... and quite literally at that. There may be something rather eerie about the smile crossing the stranger's lips, how they carry themselves.]

I am afraid you are just as trapped as many of those who have taken residence in this place, child. But it is nothing to fear...

[They merely wave a hand, barely extending it to the Persona user, but Hypnos can likely feel it; that same tug Nyx's descent began to stir within mankind.]

...No time passes in our absence, after all. [...and the tug is gone.]

[Takaya notices that Hypnos is stirring, tugging, and he frowns at that before returning to the topic at hand.]

There must be a way. Salvation is so close...
