[ Rand stands ... staring blankly at the coral and bubble, looking down at his soaked clothing and then at his surroundings.

This was not Far Madding. This was not the Tel'aran'rhiod, as a brief attempt to alter his clothing proved. He still had Callandor, and the Dragon Sword in its painted sheath. Licking his lips once, he placed the water as salt, ocean water. ]

Strange. [ The tall half-Aielman shifts his stump behind his back, waiting for his need for answers to pull someone close. ]

[When there's someone with questions Zelda can answer, the princess is sure to be nearby. She offers one of the many towels around to Rand with a smile.]

You've just been pulled in, haven't you? Are you hurt at all?

[Considering the state of some of the new arrivals, this is a perfectly valid question.]

"Pulled in", if means that I have found myself here without Traveling... [ Just a calm smile, Zelda. Ignore that random feeling of gooseflesh, he just Channeled himself dry. ]

[Oh good, he's a mage of some sort - though that kind of magic isn't anything she's used to.]

Vatheon. It's a place that exists between worlds, outside the normal flow of time. While you are here, time will not pass on your home world... which is fortunate, because there is no way out that we have yet discovered.

[The way he's holding his arm behind his back is starting to make her a little uncomfortable. Is he concealing a weapon or something?]

[ Nope, his weapons are on belts. One is kinda weirdly glowy looking, though. Maybe made of crystal. He's just hiding the fact that his left arm ends at the wrist. ]

Wielding the One Power. Although, in my case, saidin. I would be either an Aes Sedai, or a channeler.

I see. A channeler is an interesting way to put it. Are you manipulating the forces of the natural world, or calling upon the power of a god...

[Wait he just arrived here and she's bombarding him with questions?]

Ah! I'm sorry, I shouldn't be pelting you with questions. Come, let's get indoors. I can answer some questions you might have about this place.

Perhaps both; The Wheel requires energy to move, and the True Source provides that. I can only touch saidin. There are five threads to each side of the One Power; Fire, Water, Spirit, Earth, Air. [ He might sound like a teacher older than he looks. Something about those eyes says he's not a young man either.

[She leads him into the Welcome Center, going to start a pot of tea out of habit. Dry now or not, being doused with sea water can leave a bit of a chill afterwards. Once the water has begun heating, the princess hands him one of the brochures.]

I would say that we are without such a thing considering I have never heard the term, but perhaps we call that something different as well? What exactly is a portal stone?

A way to alternate timelines, I see. There must be something of that nature in Vatheon, but none of us have found it yet. Some speculate that the coral in the middle of the plaza where you arrived is capable of exactly that, but it hasn't been confirmed.

[Well... it has been confirmed to some extent. She knows the Link here in Vatheon now is not the one from her timeline, after all.]

[And there's the whistle of the kettle! The princess stands to attend to it, but turns back to Rand first, extending a hand. Thankfully for him, it's her right and he won't be expected to hold out his left.]

Rand al'Thor. [ He'll take that hand for a calm shake. Don't mind the metallic tattoo of a dragon upon his arm, the head starting on the back of his hand and disappearing up into his sleeve - or the brand shaped like a bird on his palm. Even if the brand looks strangely recent.

Although now he's getting a little distracted. He normally feels more from Min, Elayne and Avhienda than this... ]

Let me get you a little something to help you warm up, Rand.

[The princess finishes walking over to the small kitchen, leaving him with his thoughts for the moment. Does he like sweet tea or something more astringent? She'll just bring over a cup and a few cubes of sugar just in case. You can add sweetness, but you can't take it out!]

[ Rand likes tea that actually tastes like tea and not spoiled tea. Because tea can spoil. And does it taste strangely fresher than it should? or magically perfectly balanced in taste? ]

... Are.. all connections to one's world cut off as well? [ He won't panic at the lack of feeling. He won't...

[And guess what poor sap just happened to be nearby? He appears to be paying more attention to a stray squirrel than the new arrival though. Probably a bit of a strange sight, a big guy in a cloak crouched down in the middle of a plaza and chittering at wildlife.]

[ Blond man is somewhat of a strange sight.

Rand is just going to watch. If the man is Asha'man and mad already? ]

[Feeling the gaze on his back, Dhaos glances back at the origin of said gaze. He briefly turns back to the squirrel to apologize about having to cut their conversation short, and then slowly rises and turns to face the stranger. Huh. It looked as if the man was actually nearly his height.

Dhaos says nothing, waiting for the other to explain himself.]

[ Dhaos. Dhaos. The Dragon Reborn does not explain himself.

He does blink in amused, calm surprise though. ]
