Oh, don't worry, there are plenty of people that don't like this setup and are digging into what's really going on, asking questions from people who do know, like the nurses at the Clinic. There's...a lot more to it than what's told to us by the natives...if Rin had gotten a pamphlet for you, it would have laid out how this is actually an observational experiment orchestrated by anonymous scientists.

The coral is a construct by them, and they've drugged the natives out of lucidity, so they came to accept Lamufao as a god. The "curses" that are inflicted on us by the coral and our reactions to them create new data for the people watching us--or...well, it would if we could be sure they were actually still watching us. It's looking like this experiment has been abandoned, yet we're all still here until the coral sends us back home.

[Huff...man this never gets any easier to talk about.]

I'll have been here for two years in April, and I'm not even the most long-term resident here.
