[ Chika was no stranger to strange things. Her family was the epitome of strange things, and that didn't include their history with Digimon ... which wasn't nearly as strange to her. Chika had never been whisked away to another world before, however, and that ... was exactly what had happened here.

So now, Vatheon, there is a young girl standing in the plaza. She's soaking wet, standing fairly still, tiny little hands balled into fists at her sides. Chika's trying to hold it together, really, by asking herself how her family would handle this ... how her father might have handled it ... how her brother would have. They had been to a different world before. They would face anything and everything head-on, and not be afraid. Right?

And she herself had gone up, alongside her partner, against something terrifying.

Chika continued to remind herself that she shouldn't have been scared. She was a Daimon. She was strong.

... Despite the constant reassurance to herself, though, Chika was frightened. Very frightened. Her eyes welled up with tears, but she tried to hold the urge to just cry inside. ]

D-Daddy and Masaru-niichan ... wouldn't be scared. Right? Neither would Mama ...

[ She sniffles, wiping her eyes.

She was still a child, though. Who wants to help a bitty? ]

Hey.

[The voice that speaks is surprisingly gentle, and is followed by a hand holding out a fluffy blue towel for her. Sharp teeth, pointed ears and evil a black tail belonging to a teenager in a plain white button down and black slacks probably look a little scary, but Rin's expression is kind and just a little worried.

He knows people get freaked out sometimes, but kids are usually affected the worst by it, and even if she's trying to hold it together he can tell how upset she really is.]

[Angelo would usually be on his way to the bar, instead he spots a little girl crying in the plaza and approaches her slowly.]

Well well, what have we here? A crying little lady? That won't do.

[ She looks up at the voice, shocked enough by the sudden voice that she didn't even bother to rub away the tears rolling down her cheeks. Chika doesn't exactly know who she can trust and who she can't, but all things considered, accepting a fluffy blue towel from a stranger can't be that bad of an idea, right?

She was on her own, now. Chika had to make her own decisions. So, with a small "thanks," she accepted the towel and wrapped it around herself. She had been so upset that she hadn't realized that she was shivering pretty badly ... ]

[ Oh, no. Nonono. No, Stop crying, Chika. You can cry later. Chika furiously rubs at her face, trying to rub away the tears. ]

M'not crying ...

You're gonna get sick if you just stand there shiverin'.

[Rin takes out another towel, putting it on her head for her wet hair.]

What's your name?

[Standing in front of her and getting down on one knee, he can see the worry in her eyes. It's not unusual for children to be upset in a new land without their parents, he's seen it before back home with orphans. Nevertheless, his smile and tone of voice are gentle.]

It's all right to cry, there's no shame in doing it. How about I get you a towel and then perhaps we can have our introductions.

[ Help one? Maybe. Who knows. Right now, he's seated nearby. It's that time of the month, after all, when new people were supposed to start showing up. Maybe this month... maybe she'll come. After all, it was the only thing keeping him going. Being reunited with Martel.

But her? That crying? Oh, for the love of... he's so not in the mood to hear that right now. ]

Please, don't. [ It sounds more annoyed than comforting, but he gets to his feet, his arms crossed. He starts reaching for his SFC; he's going to dump this one off on Colette. ]

[ Chika peeks out at Rin from underneath the towel on her head, looking him up and down as much as she can a few times. He certainly was odd-looking ... but she had seen some pretty scary-looking creatures in her lifetime, and Rin was nothing compared to them. Plus, he seemed to be genuinely interested in her well-being ... ]

Chika. What's yours?

[ Well ... he seems nice enough. And Chika doesn't exactly have anyone else to trust in this place. So, she nods, accepting his offer for a towel. ]

Thank you ...

[He's kind of a gentle giant in that sense.]

Rin.

[He smiles a little, reaching up to help her dry her hair off.]

I know it's probably kinda scary for you right now, but I'm used to helpin' out new people here.

[ She's trying to stop crying, honest. Chika hears the boy nearby, and looks over toward him, pausing mid-wiping of her tears away. Suddenly, she has something new to focus on ...

With a frown, she balls her hands into fists again and turns her attention toward him. ]

Don't what?!

[ you certainly are a giant compared to her, Rin. Chika nods in response to it being scary. ]

Is this place really not Japan? It's not the Digital World, either?

[ If it were the digital world, she might have a chance of seeing her brother again. But if it isn't ... ]

Nope, not Japan...

[Geez, kid, just make him homesick why don't you.

Wait, back up.]

... Digital World? Man, why does that sound so familiar... ?

Cry. [ Scrolling... scrolling... Colette's name has to be here, somewhere. He really can't take a human child right now. Even if he himself doesn't look that much older than her.

Mithos finally sighs, and motions towards the towel cart. ] Aren't you going to dry off? [ His voice is just barely above an annoyed groan. ]

[ Wait wait wait. That sounds familiar? Chika instantly moves in closer, the towel falling off of her head as she ... gets all up in Rin's face, as much as she can. ]

You've heard of it?! Did you fight alongside a Digimon, too? Have you been there? You've been there, right? Did you see my brother?!

[ No, Chika, he doesn't know who your brother is. And he can only answer one question at a time. Cool your jets, dear. ]

[Holycrap child in face]

Whoa whoa slow down, one question at a time! I can't follow you that well!

[okay, Masaru knows that sound. And he hates that sound. And now he's homing in on it like a rocket, because that's what a ~~man~~big brother does!]

... Chika! CHIKA, WHERE ARE YOU?!

[ She opens her mouth, about to say something more to him, but then he points to the cart. Chika pouts, then moves over there, grabs a towel, and wraps it around herself.

And then, she moves back over toward Mithos and frowns a little more at him. ]

I'll cry if I want to!

[ Wow, what a brat. ]

[Standing back up, he holds out a hand for her to take and acknowledges her thanks.]

It's not a problem. Oh and the name's Angelo. What is yours, my little lady?

[ And Chika knows that sound. But then, if Masaru was here ... was this place, Vatheon, part of the Digital World?

She'd figure that out later. Right now, she just wants her brother. ]

Masaru-niichan!

[ Even though she knows she should stay where she is and let Masaru come to her, Chika can't help but run toward the sound of his voice. ]

I-I'm over here! Masaru-niichan!

CHIKAAAAAAAAAAA!

[and then he sees her. And his face lights up with excitement and worry. And then he's barreling towards her and grabbing her into the biggest hug he can manage!]

[ Brat indeed. If he was the kind of person who would notice, she'd remind him of a younger version of himself. Well... a much, much younger version. As in... 4,006 years ago. ]

W-Whatever, just don't expect me to feel bad for you. You better toughen up if you want to last long here.

[ He has a really bad way with kids. Especially human kids. Sorry, Chika... but this is the best he can do. ]

Chika.

[ She tells him her name and reaches out, cautiously, to take his hand. ]

[ Okay, here's the biggest question, then. ]

Have you seen my brother?

Uhh... that depends. What's his name? Or what does he look like? C'mon, there's a lotta residents here, you gotta give me somethin' to work with.
