Grasping the damp cloth, Calcedny rises to his feet and closes in on Crow from the other side of the room. Since he was in the middle of chores, he's without armor. An ordinary teenage boy.

Easier though it may be, it's far less intrusive and more impressionable to approach the door. You'd know if anyone was living here by checking the lock.
