[There was a general consensus around the bubble that new arrivals were going to react in a number of ways, but most of them scaling various ranges of upset, confused and freaked out. Even if the new arrival wasn't exactly yelling their disgust at the situation or panicking over some one they left back home, chances were they weren't being entirely calm about things. They'd just been dragged against their will to another world, after all. It wasn't exactly something that sat well in most people's minds.
But this one... well, it would be safe to say he wasn't exactly "most people". If he was irritated, upset, or otherwise perturbed about this situation, he certainly wasn't showing it.
While others had gone for the towels, or went to pick up pamphlets or even talk to other people that were around, N was simply sitting on the ground, back against the fountain, still dripping wet from his trip through the sea. His face was turned up, baseball cap sitting next to him along with two red and white Pokeballs, though his focus was almost entirely on the bubble that enclosed the city and kept the sea back.
Eventually he did move, though, but only to pick up one of the Pokeballs and stare at it, expression just as blank as it had been a moment ago.]

... but there's this guy looking lost. He looks around... no one else is nearby. So, telling himself to keep it cool, he approached the green-haired young man, raising his hand in greeting]
Hey there! You're one of the new arrivals, right? Hi, I'm Daimon Masaru!
no subject
But this cheerful person had interrupted those thoughts anyway, prompting him to look up with a mildly surprised expression.]
N.
[He wasn't about to give Masaru time to ponder on that odd name.]
New arrivals?
no subject
You're in a place called Vatheon. You got brought here by a big giant coral whale. Or something.
no subject
By this point both eyebrows are up in a sort of incredulous 'what in the world are you talking about' expression.]
"Coral whale"? A whale made out of coral or... ?
[Come on, give him a little more to work with. Even a genius can't decipher that fully.]
no subject
[Masaru fishes through his pockets, and produces a crumpled up pamphlet he got from the welcome center]
Here, read this. It can explain better than I can...
no subject
Of course he could have gone off and gotten that himself earlier but shush he was having a moment.]
I see...
[He stands up and takes it to read, sitting on the edge of the fountain to go over it silently, eyes darting across the words quickly. Sorry Masaru, you're kind of being ignored now.]
no subject
After a while... he decides to speak up]
So... does that explain everything?
no subject
[N hands the pamphlet back, looking thoughtful and a touch distant. From what he had seen this "coral" that brought subjects for what could more or less be called an experiment seemed to focus mainly on humans - a fact he wasn't too pleased about but was willing to accept. Recent events had knocked a tiny sense of humility in to him, and while it would take years - if not his entire life time - to completely shake him of his idea that he was more or less perfect, even he had to bow to the whims of something more powerful than even a Legendary.
But if it was sentient, perhaps he could convince it otherwise--
No, that was a thought to entertain later. There were more important things at hand. He was going to be without his castle here, though that was going to happen anyway. The prospect of living on his own, even in another world, was actually pleasing to him. Though not having grunts to order around or his sisters would take some getting used to.
Realizing that he was being unusually silent even after saying his thoughts on the pamphlet, he cleared his throat quietly so he could continue.]
It says this... Lamufao brings people from all worlds. Tell me, does it possibly bring creatures known as Pokemon as well?
no subject
Oh yeah! Totally! My friend Bianca has a whole bunch of them!

/flying small child-
Anna isn't sure she's seen a hair color quite like that. She has a towel just in case he asks why she's here, but first?
Why is your hair green. ]
/catches~
N almost doesn't notice her at first. It's not until he lowers the Pokeball he was staring at that he realizes he's being stared at in turn.
He makes a face, but it's far from angry. Children are often exempt from his scorn, mostly because they were too innocent to realize what they were doing. They were the product of their adult parental figures, after all.
That doesn't mean he knows what to say.]
no subject
She's caught staring, though, so she lowers the hand with the marble, and offers the arm with a towel. ]
... did you eat too many vegetables?
[ Because eating a lot makes you tall, so does eating too many make your hair go green? Maybe that was why Saruhiko didn't want to eat vegetables, his hair was already blue! ]
no subject
[What an odd question. What and odd girl. He can't understand why she's asking such a thing, or why she was looking through a red marble at him, but rather than actually saying that he just... blinks slowly and stares at her, not moving to take the towel.]
no subject
no subject
Though admittedly it's almost cute, the way she puts it, and an odd sort of laugh escapes from N before he can stop it.]
Yes, it is.
no subject
And you're tall. You get tall by eating all your vegetables. Did you eat too much and your hair turned green?
no subject
No, it's always been green.

There's an Eevee pawing at your leg right now. He noticed you looked a little wet and also you have pokeballs so you are a friend maybe??? :D?
He skips around a bit to the pokeballs and rolls them slightly before taking a sniff. Then he is joined by a girl walking up and kneeling to be at his and N's level.]
What'd you find, Pip? A newcomer? [And to N--] Hi there, sorry if he's bugging you, he's really curious.
no subject
fatfluffy Eevee. So adorable.N's expression doesn't change too much, but his eyes do seem to light up past that blank, distant look he had earlier.
There's a very bare acknowledgement of Maka's approach, just a glance in her direction before he rests a hand on Pip's head gently.]
You're not bothering me at all. Pip... what a curious name for an Eevee.
no subject
Ah, well, if he's okay with Pip being around, Maka will just go to retrieve towels while Pip leans into N's hand, rubbing against it affectionately.
"My daddy named me! Do you have Pokemon? I haven't seen those balls with anyone but the poffin-hat lady before!"]
no subject
Poffin-hat lady? I'm sorry, I don't know anyone like that.
[Actually he does, but that's not how he remembers Bianca.
He moves his hand down to scratch under Pip's chin.]
I have friends with me, yes. Tell me, Pip, are there others like you here?
no subject
Not to interrupt the conversation, but Maka's returning with a couple of towels and setting them next to N.]
I think that makes you the third Pokemon trainer here, sir. There's Bianca, I met another one named Wallace, and I've seen another one around in the park sometimes drawing. [She means Burgh, but she's never interacted with him directly.] Pip? Are you guarding him? [Pip nods, chirruping with enthusiasm.]
no subject
No, those aren't Pokemon. But I'm glad you're able to play with others, Pip.
[When Maka returns, N finally gives her enough attention to actually speak directly to her instead of to Pip.]
I see...
[So Bianca is here. Maybe that's the one Pip is speaking of. But more importantly-]
Why does Pip refer to his trainers as "Papa" and "Mama"?
no subject
Maka looks mildly surprised, but then smiles again.]
Us? I wouldn't call us his trainers...we were there when he hatched, so I guess he sees us like his parents then. You understand what he's saying?
no subject
What.
He can't--...]
... I... can understand Pokemon, yes. Better than humans, even.
[He shakes his head slowly, looking absolutely baffled.]
I don't understand, though. Why aren't you trainers?
